History:
Nelspruit is the political capital of Mpumalanga – one of the key provinces in South Africa. This city started out as a train station that was built on a farm owned by the Nel family. The natural richness of the soil and adequate water attracted traders and farmers from all over. Today, Nelspruit is one of the largest producers of tabacco, litchis, mangoes, avocados and other fruit. The town is also a stop over en route to the famous Kruger National Park. |
